RocKwiz duets are regularly issued on CD, but now the show’s 2010 national tour has been celebrated on a DVD/CD. It was a hugely successful venture with a great time had by all, apparently, despite the gruelling schedule. Guitarist Ashley Naylor joined the band for the tour, plus a host of Oz veterans and visiting musos. They opened in Canberra and finished three months later in Melbourne at St Kilda’s Palais Theatre … ‘35 shows, 20 cities, 50,000 punters and 22,000km travelled’, or so says stage manager Dugald McAndrew in the DVD’s on-road documentary. The DVD also features a complete performance at Toowoomba’s grand old Empire Theatre, plus 10 songs from different venues, while the CD has another 18 live tracks. The music’s often rough around the edges, but hugely enjoyable.
